NEBRASKA – AGO Files Consent Judgment and Issues Report at Conclusion of Goodwill Omaha Investigation

Lincoln – Today, Attorney General Peterson was joined by AAG Meghan Stoppel who heads the Consumer Protection Division in the Attorney Generals’ Office to announce the issuance of a report and the filing of a Consent Judgment in Douglas County District Court against Goodwill Industries, Inc. and Goodwill Specialty Services, Inc. (collectively Goodwill Omaha). The Consent Judgment contains a number of remedial actions which Goodwill Omaha will be expected to take to address concerns cited by the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and to ensure Goodwill Omaha’s future compliance with the law.

SOUTH CAROLINA – SC Secretary of State Announces Settlement Agreement with Professional Fundraiser

(COLUMBIA, SC) – South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond announced today that his office had entered into a settlement agreement with professional solicitor Donor Services Group, LLC.  As part of the settlement, Donor Services Group paid an administrative fine of $5,000.00, and any future violations of the agreement would result in fines of up to $2,000.00 for each separate violation.

New York – Acting A.G. Underwood Announces Settlement With Self-Dealing Trustee Of A Private Foundation

Acting Attorney General Barbara Underwood today announced a settlement resolving an investigation into the Richenthal Foundation, a grant-making organization that focuses on funding not-for-profit theater groups. As a result of the settlement, David Richenthal’s restitution will total $550,000 and he is barred from access to the Foundation’s funds and having any fiduciary role in New York not-for-profits.
